At first they came for the smokers but I did not speak out as I did not smoke. Then they came for the binge drinkers but I said nothing as I did not binge. Now they have an obesity strategy.

Winter blues
The clocks have gone back giving us dark afternoons as Britain persists in setting its time an hour behind the rest of Europe. I always hate it. At least early mornings will be enlivened by the Rugby League World Cup being played in Australia over the next four weeks. The Kangaroos look far too strong though, the real competition is probably for who comes second. Never mind, there is always work ... ah.

Our clocks in Vienna, always one hour ahead of your Hull clocks, have gone back one hour. That means that you in Hull being approx 1/24th of the globus to the west of us in Vienna will continue get your darkness one hour later than us. Now you wouldn't want a whole 2 hours extra of daylight of an evening surely...would you?
I think we're all barmy. Let's simply turn all the clocks back half an hour and leave them be.
