At first they came for the smokers but I did not speak out as I did not smoke. Then they came for the binge drinkers but I said nothing as I did not binge. Now they have an obesity strategy.
I didn't hear the broadcast, but I saw the family interviewed on TV. They came across as extraordinarily dignified and, as you said, it was deeply moving.
And their dignity was shared by Rugby League. The minute's silence was impeccably observed at Swinton today as elsewhere. This wasn't Diana-style emoting, it was solidarity. It made me proud to be a League fan.

Don't know if you heard radio five this afternoon. They had the family on talking about the whole terrible tragedy of it all.
