...to watch the World Cup.

Especially posted for mikeovswinton, yes only two Euros for one and a half litres. Mmm ... taste that pine resin.

The Greek team are going to need it, aren't they, after getting taken to the cleaners and back by a Bolton player and the rest of the mighty South Korean 11.

Euro Championships must seem a long time ago. Back to 1994 and worst side in the tournament? Perhaps they'll get pelted with bottles of rotsina when they get home next week.

The Ozzies might give them a bit of a whirl for worst in tourney, tho. Makes you wish they were that poor at Rugby League once in a blue moon.

just watched/caught up with this tonight Peter:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00lz2p5/Happy_Birthday_OU_40_Years_of_the_Open_University/

"In 1969 change was in the air. Man stepped on the Moon and Britain launched a revolutionary new kind of university, one where the lectures were televised and the students could study at home. It was greeted with scepticism, both by politicians and academics, but went on to become a much loved, and often spoofed, British institution.

The Open University (or OU) is now 40 years old, and Lenny Henry tells its story and reveals how the OU changed his own life. Featuring contributions from Sir David Attenborough, Myleene Klass and Anna Ford." (R)

Can't get iPlayer overseas damn it. But thanks. Of course the OU was desperately badly hit by the ELQ funding cuts that I blogged about interminably a couple of years ago. I wait for the latest ingenuity of the new lot of vandals with bated breath.
