A sporting heartbreak ...

... for some. I thought the World Cup final in Paris was a great advertisement for Rugby League.

UPDATE
Richard Williams seems to agree

Needless to say, seconded with bells on. I'd rather watch Swinton Academy on a wet day that stuff. Good session at Agecroft saturday morning BTW. Progress is being made.

Still no takers from the "rugby" union crowd,eh Peter. You must have got it right.

Richard Williams ain't the only one. In the free newspaper Metro there is a small piece - not unfortunately on their website- headed "Rule rethink is overdue, says O'Neill". Australian rugby chief John O'Neill is quoted as syaing "Rugby league went from unlimited tackles to limited tackles. It went from three metres to fice and reduced the value of a field goal to one. We need to create space, we need to create time, we want a philosophy that encourages try-scoring." He's noticed that Rugby Union needs to be made more appealing to spectators. He has also noticed the answer; Rugby League. From the horse's mouth.

Rugby league did seem to get alot of talk during the world cup! People are constantly debating which version is better and from what i have heard rugby league seems far more popular!
